Does your portfolio pay for itself?
Enter what you hold and what it sells for. The calculator gives the year's profit or loss after renewals and commission, and what each input would have to be for the portfolio to break even.
One year at these numbers
2 sales a year is an average. In a small portfolio most years have none or one, so a single sale decides the year.
To break even you would need
What one name must be worth to keep
$1,294
At 0.85% sell-through after commission, a name renewing at $11.00 a year earns its renewal only if its likely sale price is at least $1,294. A name worth less costs more to hold than it returns on average.
Which of your names clear that bar?
Renewal triage reads each name's appraisal against its renewal and calls keep, list or drop, free for up to ten names.
How it is worked out
Expected sales are names times sell-through. Sales after commission are those sales times the average price, less the commission. Profit is that, less the renewal bill and what you spend on new names.
Each break-even figure holds the other inputs fixed and solves for the one named. The keep threshold is the renewal divided by sell-through and by the share of a sale you keep.
It is averages, not a forecast: real sales are lumpy, and a portfolio's sell-through depends on its names and its pricing.
